MB2-868 Certification Review Study Guide, June 20, 2013
This review is from: Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Applications (MB2-868) Certification Guide (Paperback)
Packt Publishing asked me to do a review of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Applications (MB2-868) Certification Guide.

What I like about this book is:

    1. I couldn’t find any obvious technical errors in it when I read through it. So that makes it a reliable reference and training manual.

    2. It has a nice `conversational’ tone to it. While it is mostly step by step point and click (which it should be), it does interject some additional insight into the processes that you might get if you were in a class room environment.

    3. It is very thorough. It appears to cover the breadth and depth of the knowledge you will need to get positioned to sit for MB2-868 exam. Although, don’t expect that reading through this book or for that matter any similar Microsoft exam material training publication to get you 100% ready by itself. I would recommend that you read through the book cover to cover and then go back and actually step through each activity with a real CRM system.

    4. The book includes 75 sample test questions, plus quiz questions at the end of each chapter. But one thing this book does that most don’t is in the answer key it expands on just identifying what the correct answer was by giving more information on what makes the wrong answers wrong and the right answers right.

Overall, it is a worthwhile purchase to make as you pursue the CRM 2011 Applications Exam – MB2-868.

Packt Publishing’s recent certification guide for the Dynamics CRM 2011 Applications exam (MB2-868) by Danny Varghese is a welcome resource for the Dynamics CRM community. This exam is notoriously amongst the most difficult certifications to achieve due to the breadth of content and challenging nature of the exam questions, so Varghese’s contribution is essential to the determined candidate. The 300+ page guide is formatted to mirror the sections of the exam, and each thorough chapter has helpful self-test questions. This format lends itself to an efficient study plan, where the reader can focus on the questions in order to absorb the most relevant content.

At the end of the guide is a sample exam with questions that are similar enough to the real-world exam to ensure that the right content is covered and to help build confidence for the test-taker. I found that the explanations provided with the answer guide were very helpful in understanding the concepts and clarifying what are sometimes tricky questions. This is an absolutely essential guide if you plan on tackling the Applications exam.

Helpful in preparation for the MB2-868 certification, May 22, 2013
    By

This review is from: Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Applications (MB2-868) Certification Guide (Paperback)
This is a helpful book in preparation for the MB2-868 certification. The author, Danny Varghese, gives a thorough overview of what Microsoft Dynamics CRM includes and he exemplifies the topics discussed by introducing the reader to business scenarios. The book covers the three main modules of Microsoft Dynamics CRM in great depth: Sales, Marketing and Customer Service. It also maps out the life-cycle of entities contained in these modules, the relationships between them, how you can get a clear view of your business by using the reporting and analysis features, and how this all plays together with Microsoft Outlook. In addition to the step-by-step guides showing how you manage your entities, the reader can quiz himself in the “Test your knowledge” section at the end of each chapter. I will recommend this book to anyone taking the MB2-868 certification and to any professional working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM applications on a daily basis.
